7 things you can do today to simplify (and amplify) your real estate marketing

Marketing can be tough. At its best, it’s a well-oiled, lead-generating machine. At its worst, it’s a drain on your time and energy. But there are things any agent or broker can do to simplify their real estate marketing and get better results. Here are 7 easy-to-implement hacks that can help you be more effective in marketing your brand and listings.

Paradym Choosing Social Media

Pick One & Stick With It: Get Good at One Social Media Channel at a Time

For a lot of agents and brokers, starting small and getting good at one social media channel is a great way to simplify and amplify their marketing. As a real estate agent, you essentially function as your own small business. It’s a good goal to build a healthy presence on each social media platform, but you may not have the resources to fully commit to them all. So don’t feel like you need to be on every social media channel today.

A good place to start is Facebook. Get really good at Facebook. Use a business Page to market your brand, listings, and services, communicate with your followers, respond to comments, boost some posts, and try your hand at advertising. If you’re not that comfortable with social media, that’s ok. Find someone who is and get their help with setting up and managing your Page, and consider outsourcing your Facebook advertising. (If you’re a Paradym customer, our Success Team can help you set up your Facebook Page).

Bottom line, get on Facebook, add value to your clients’ lives, and build a following for your business there.

Paradym Email List

Segment your email list

We’ve all received emails that are obviously sent to a bajillion other people. They’re not personalized, they sound canned, and they’re actually not as effective at generating results.

By segmenting your email lists, you can break your contacts up into focused, manageable groups, or “segments.” This gives you the ability to write and send emails that are more targeted, personal, and relatable. And people are more likely to open and respond to these kinds of emails than they are the robotic kind. Makes sense, right?

Try segmenting your email groups using what you know about your market and where your clients and potential clients are in your sales funnel.

Marketing Plan

Use a Plan for Your Online Marketing

Simplify your digital marketing by creating a plan:

  • Know where you’re going: create goals and write them down. Are you looking to generate more leads? Market your brand? Gain a social following? The answer to this question should influence what you do online.
  • Keep your branding and communication consistent across all of the online platforms you use for your business: “All your messaging should look and sound as if it’s from the same brand—because it is—regardless of which channel it’s pushed through or” who wrote it (MarketingProfs).
  • Match your content to the channel you’re using. Example: Posting to Twitter? Keep your entire message under 140 characters, and you might want to consider using an image.
  • Get people talking! If you have multiple people who are involved with marketing your business, make sure everyone is communicating.

Instead of Searching the Internet for Content to Share, Use Feedly

You could spend a lot of time scouring the web for relevant content to share with your followers on social media. Or you could have great content brought to your phone or computer every day.

Just download the Feedly app on your phone, select the types of content you’re interested in learning about, and Feedly can automatically pull articles together for you, ready for you to review and post.

(Tip: Set up Buffer or Hootsuite to easily post the articles you think are the best.)

Avoid the Content Scramble…Try the 1-1-1 Method to Jumpstart Your Content Plan

Regularly posting content is really helpful in building an online presence. Avoid the scramble of trying to create new content for your audience on the fly. Take a step back, breathe, and try the 1-1-1 method:

  • Write one article each week.
  • Post it once on social media.
  • Recommend the article to one influential networker (this could be a past client, a local business owner, an influential friend…someone who can help you get the word out, introduce you to potential clients, etc.). Share it on their wall, send it in a direct message, or email them.

This will get you started with generating content for your followers, and you can always add more later.

Repurpose Your Content

Find a piece of content that you have already created and repurpose it. But that doesn’t mean re-post the exact same thing again. Modify and promote an older blog post, article, interview, etc. by changing its format.

If the original piece of content was a blog post, try taking the same content (that you worked so hard to come up with) and turn it into a short video, infographic, podcast, LinkedIn article…the list goes on. And don’t forget to share the new, repurposed piece on social media.
