25 actionable marketing tips for real estate agents [quick list]

Social Media Tips

1. Are you still using a personal Facebook profile to market your real estate business? It’s time to make the switch to using a business Page. This gives you access to advertising (a big deal in the “pay-to-play” era of social media marketing) and analytic features that can tell you about your followers, reach, and more.

2. You don’t have to personally create all of the content you share on social media. Start using Feedly (it’s free) to find content to share with your followers.

Branding Tips

12. Make sure that your Facebook Page profile follows any branding requirements set forth by your brokerage or real estate company, and keep your color schemes, layouts, and logos consistent across all of your social media channels. And make sure you use high-quality images to display your online profile photos, brand images, logos, etc.

13. In some ways, you are your brand. If possible, represent yourself the same way across all of the online platforms you’re using. For example, if you’re calling yourself “Sally Jones Realty” on your Facebook Page and “The Milwaukee Realty Team” on other online profiles, you run the risk of confusing potential clients about who you are and the services you provide.

14. Do you sound the same on each of your online channels? Use a consistent tone in all of your posts. For example, if you’re posting family photos and political content on your Facebook business Page, but your Twitter posts are strictly business related, it can throw your audience for a loop. Consistency is one key to developing a solid and recognizable brand.

15. Fill in all online profiles completely and make sure to keep them updated. This includes bio sections on your website and your social media profiles. Make it easy for clients and potential clients to find you, understand your value as a real estate agent, and connect with you.

Video Marketing

16. Get someone to interview you about the state of the local real estate market and then post the video to social media.

17. Start a restaurant of the week video series. This is a great way to give your audience valuable information and build some connections with local businesses.

18. Use Buffer to plan out an Instagram video campaign that reveals new information about an upcoming announcement, listing, open house, community event, etc. Keep in mind that your videos on Instagram have to be one minute or less.

19. Create a short video about how to establish a home buying budget.

20. Testimonials can be powerful. Contact a recent buyer and let them tell the story of what it was like to work with you.
